University of Cincinnati School of Education

The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati is proud to be an educational partner of Clever Crazes for Kids®.

With the guidance of our academic partners, Clever Crazes for Kids® brings to after-school programs, classrooms, home schools, and homes everywhere new and exciting ways to engage kids in learning. With the guidance of our academic partners, Clever Crazes for Kids® (CCK) brings to after-school programs, classrooms, home schools, and homes across the country new and exciting ways to engage kids in learning. To make academics fun for kids, we use a wide variety of tools, including animation, interactive educational learning games, and skill & drill activities to cover different academic areas of focus that we call "Worlds." Research shows that there are numerous benefits to combining learning with games, and that is what students experience when using the CCK website and app. The opportunity to earn points toward real rewards for themselves and their schools or after-school programs provides an extra motivation and promotes social responsibility.

CCK’s university partners join us in introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) content that was developed in consultation with appropriate grade standards. The Arts, including visual art, dance, and music, have also been added to the CCK website, demonstrating the importance of the Arts in developing critical thinking skills. Adding "Art" turned STEM into STEAM. CCK also incorporates content that emphasizes the importance of physical fitness, healthy eating habits, positive self-esteem, and a heightened awareness of an individual’s responsibility to "be green."

When developing the CCK curriculum, lesson plans, and content, both state standards and Common Core were referenced. We encourage you to see the Clever Crazes website’s section "State Standards." CCK also introduces students to facts and concepts that were developed by following the standards endorsed by the National Science Educators Association, as well as the American Association for the Advancement of Science STEM Benchmarks, making CleverCrazes.com a perfect enrichment for K-8 education.

The School of Education is part of the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at UC. The students and faculty work side-by-side with teachers, athletic trainers, community wellness experts, intervention specialists, and law enforcement officials because UC values experiential learning as an important element in coursework and degree programs. Current research in these areas is incorporated into every course to ensure that graduates are prepared to address the most urgent challenges of our society.
